Iran’s steel output ups 3.7%


IMIDRO announced that Iran has produced 9.6 million tons of crude steel in the last seven months of 2015.

Up to August, Iran has produced 9.645 million tons crude steel in 2015 showing increase by 3.7 percent compared with the same period in 2014 when the figure was 9.305 million tons, as Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) quoted the World Steel Association (WSA) saying as such on Saturday.
According to WSA, 65 world steel producing countries have produced 945.843 million tons of crude steel in the last seven months down by 2.1 percent compared with the same period of preceding year, as the figure was 966.482 million tons in 2014.

World 65 steel producing countries output decreased 3.8 percent to 132.900 million tons in July 2015. Iran’s production in July 2015 was 1.273 million tons, down by 1.3 percent compared with the same month of 2014.

According to the WSA statistics, steel production trend in 29 world steel producing countries during the first seven months of the year decreased by 1.8 percent in China, 8.4 percent in US, 4.8 percent in Japan, 3.9 percent in South Korea, 9.7 in Argentina, 0.3 in Australia, 1.7 in France, 0.7 in Germany, 10.7 in Italy, 8 percent in Norway and 6.3 percent in Turkey.

Iran ranked first in the region and 14th in the world level of steel producers. Iran is geared up to produce 55 million tons of steel in its vision plan for year 2025.
