{"id":124,"date":"2026-02-21T15:40:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T12:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asgarzade.sitedar.com\/yasco\/en\/?p=124"},"modified":"2026-02-21T16:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T12:39:07","slug":"share-of-railroad-in-steel-transportation-at-one-third","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yasco.org\/en\/share-of-railroad-in-steel-transportation-at-one-third\/","title":{"rendered":"Share of Railroad in Steel Transportation at One-Third"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-md-3 col-sm-5\">\n<div class=\"sidebar\">\n<p>Some 60 million tons of steel products were transported in Iran during the last Iranian year (March 2016-17). \u201cThe share of railroads from this amount was 20 million, that is one-third,\u201d Saeed Mohammadzadeh, CEO of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-9 col-sm-7 textBox\">\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>IRIR recently signed a deal with Esfahan Steel Company for transporting ESCO\u2019s products to the southern port of Shahid Rajaee. The agreement stipulates transporting at least 250,000 tons of ESCO-made products for export via railroad. ESCO is reportedly also planning to use railroad for its shipments to the eastern city of Zahedan close to Pakistan\u2019s border and exports to Afghanistan. Iran\u2019s sixth five-year development plan\u2019s (2017-22) targets have it that the share of rails in overall cargo transportation should increase from the current 12% to 30%.
